The hunger-fighting pizza slayers of Greenville Avenue Pizza Company are back at it with plans to bring their powerful rolling pins and leather holsters to Richardson’s Lockwood Drive. Already, GAPCo, as its colloquially known, has two locations in the Dallas area.
Owner Sammy Mandell opened his first GAPCo on, you guessed it, Greenville Ave in 2007. 10 years later, the East Dallas shop opened on Peavy Road. And now the company is growing again. Shipping delays resulting from COVID have kept the shop from opening already, but the Facebook page for GAPCo Richardson says you’ll be able to enjoy those thin-crusts by the slice “very soon.” Community Impact Dallas reports the pizzeria plans to open by late October or early November.
No word yet on which of GAPCo’s slayers (Cookie? Cyclone? Ol’ Faithful??) will provide the pies in Richardson. Chances are the company will announce a new fleet of heroes dedicated to fighting your hunger. We do know you’ll be able to enjoy the classics or build your own pie once GAPCo Richardson is up and running. Who wouldn’t want to sink their teeth into a Jalapeño Popper pie?
Pizza Today has declared GAPCo an industry leader nation-wide, and just this year the shop was nominated for the Best in DFW People’s Choice Award from The Dallas Morning News.
Follow the pizzeria on social media for updates.
